Director Patty Jenkin’s Wonder Woman earned $11 million on Thursday at the U.S. box office, setting a new preview night record for a film helmed by a woman. The previous record was held by Sam Taylor-Johnson, whose Fifty Shades of Grey earned $8.6 million in Thursday previews in 2015. According to The Hollywood Reporter, Wonder Woman‘s audience was evenly split between men and women.

Opening today nationwide, Wonder Woman stars Gal Gadot as Diana, Robin Wright as General Antiope, Chris Pine as Steve Trevor, Danny Huston as General Erich Ludendorff, Connie Nielsen as Queen Hippolyta, David Thewlis as Ares, Elena Anaya as Doctor Poison & Lucy Davis as Etta Candy.
